  • Marine Superintendent

    Job Description

    At the moment we are looking for a Marine Superintendent for our Marine Department

    Role:

    - Monitoring Cargo Holds condition & maintenance and Supervising Cargo Holds cleaning progress, ensuring   readiness for inspection at Loading Ports.
    - Ensuring the good maintenance and readiness of Deck Maintenance equipment (High Pressure machines,     Sandblasting machines etc).
    - Conducting on board training, Internal Safety, Security & Navigational Audits as assigned by DPA, ensuring MLC, ISPS, ISM code are implemented by vessel’s staff and LSA / FFE equipment is in good working order and ready for use.  
    - Evaluating crew personnel according to Crew Department’s procedures.
    - Conducting Briefings and De- briefings of Masters & Chief Officers.
    - Prepare vessel for inspection by Port State Control, Class, Vetting (Rightship) or flag inspectors by providing necessary guidance to the Master.
    - Follow up weekly maintenance reports and guide Master accordingly.
    - Follow up the computerized planned maintenance system and list with outstanding jobs. (PMS, VIR, DD & Defect List) for each vessel. 
    - Following up Charts & Publications Management System and supporting the Masters with safety of Navigation   related issues.
    - Identifying and listing jobs from Deck to be done in Dry Dock and organizing well in advance for relevant materials to  be on board for this purpose
    - Checking and approving invoices for repairs, deck/safety stores, Paints, Charts & Publications, Lashing materials, Wire & Mooring ropes, medicines and Deck Chemicals.  
    - Reviewing IMSM documents/reports related to their Department, submitted by managed vessels, as per Company’s requirements, i.e. Maintenance, Navigation etc.
    - Identifying potential port and navigation risks of loading/discharging ports, for drafts, port hazards etc. Take proactive steps in coordination and cooperation with Operations, HSQE and Technical department as applicable.
    - Member of Onsite Response Team in emergency situations
     
     
     

    Qualifications

    -  Minimum Chief Officer’s license and at least two years sailing experience as Chief Officer on board Bulk  Carriers.
    - Theoretical and practical experience in vessel’s operation
    - Familiarity with Rightship requirements and previous office experience in similar position will be considered an asset. 
    -  Fluency in both spoken and written English and computer literacy are essential.
